Mandala I and Mandala II are two videos made during the international art residency at Largo das Artes, Rio de janeiro, Brazil at summer time. They are a series of works made from the observation of a ceiling fan exploring natural phenomena and the perception of the space around us. By manipulating elements such as light, speed and sound, this simple object (although essential during the Summer in Rio) assumes new shapes and readings.

In Mandala II the reading of the movement of the fan is subtler and left to the natural phenomena itself. The variation of the speed of the movement of the fan while filming allows positive and negative effects interplaying together.
